Actress Huma Qureshi feels that the upcoming third season of her OTT program “Maharani” marks the start of a new phase in her career.

As the main character in the program, Qureshi, who made her acting debut in “Gangs of Wasseypur” in 2012 and has appeared in movies including “D-Day,” “Dedh Ishqiya,” and “Badlapur,” claimed she might potentially charge a specific salary.

I am allowed to charge a particular amount today since I am performing in ‘Maharani,’ and the whole production revolves around my role. We have all profited from this presentation. People began to see me differently. In an interview, the actor said, “I can state without a doubt that ‘Maharani’ marked the beginning of a new chapter in my career.”

In the first season of “Maharani,” Qureshi played the ignorant Rani Bharti, whose husband, politician Bheema Bharti (Sohum Shah), personally chooses her to succeed him as Bihar’s chief minister after he is shot and injured.

In the second season of the program, which was directed by Ravindra Gautam, Rani Bharti faced up against her husband, who is concerned about his wife’s rising prominence as a chief minister and is eager to regain control of the situation. She must also battle Navin Kumar, an adversary in politics (Amit Sial).

After her husband is killed, Saurabh Bhave’s Rani Bharti will face off against her adversaries in the next season. The program is written and operated by Subhash Kapoor and Nandan Singh.

Because there is more at stake in the third season, Qureshi, 37, thinks it will be bigger, better, and bolder. The actor said that the narrative has only been partially explored by the filmmakers.

“The series has a great deal of promise. There are a ton of tales. We Americans have an obsession with politics and all things political. A great deal of things are possible. We have only barely begun our exploration so far. There is still much to be done. We may go seven or eleven seasons. I will be content and appreciative of all the affection we have received, even if this is our final time together,” she said.

According to the actress, Rani Bharti will always be a special role in her repertoire.

“I usually argue that an actor becomes a legend if they get five (memorable) parts in their career; everything else is just EMI. I’ve finished one, and I have four left. Qureshi, who has acted in many female-led films, such as “Tarla” and “Double XL,” said that more work has to be done before women in the film business can take advantage of comparable possibilities.

“We don’t have as many chances when we speak about female-led entertainment since such series and movies aren’t produced very regularly. We need to demonstrate some kind of unseen standard or be twice as excellent as every other show.
